The Columbia History Association will be hosting the History Department's 2024 Senior Thesis Celebration on Friday, April 19th, from 2:30-4pm in Uris 107 (Calder Faculty Lounge). Senior thesis writers will present their work and answer questions, covering topics that range from literature in the interwar and Cold War years, devotion and faith in the premodern world, and disability and civil rights activism in the twentieth century. Congratulations on declaring a major or concentration in history! We are hosting our annual Sophomore Welcome Event for the Class of 2026  this Wednesday, March 20th from 7-8pm in Fayerweather 411! The event will be a chance for you to meet each other, the CHA board, and the History Department administration, and learn about departmental advising, resources, and the upcoming course selection. There will also be food, Columbia history merch, and a trivia competition, and you can drop by at any point during the event if you aren't able to stay for the full hour. We can’t wait to welcome you!

The Columbia History Association will be hosting our Spring 2024 Midterm Study Break this coming Tuesday (3/5) from 7-8pm in Fayerweather 411!

Everyone is welcome to stop by for some free snacks, good company, and a brief respite from midterms season! We hope that you will be able to join us for at least a little bit and maybe feel a little less stressed as you take a break from all of that intense studying (or intense procrastination) you've been doing!
